Hundreds of laptops donated. Children are still waiting.

Thanks to the generosity of many companies, working laptops keep reaching kids who need them. A few large corporate partners have made especially generous gifts, and many other companies give alongside them. The thank-you is real. So is the waiting list.

A refresh can end in a closet. Or it can become a desk for a child.

When companies refresh hardware, working laptops often sit in storage or leave through channels that never reach a child’s backpack. Many Ontario companies have chosen a warmer ending through Tech4Kidz. Among our larger gifts are Zeifmans and Mazda Canada. Thanks to their generosity, and to every company that has donated alongside them, hundreds of working machines have found new homes.

For each lot, Tech4Kidz arranged Ontario pickup. Donor IT cleared drives. Our IT partner completed a second wipe, recorded the lot, and prepared certificates where needed. Working machines were placed with families through Simcoe Muskoka Children’s Aid and Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions.

Behind every serial number is a student who can open a document without borrowing a phone, join class platforms with dignity, and feel that school at home is possible.

It is beautiful progress, and it is still not near enough. Families remain on waitlists. Your company’s next refresh can shorten that line, whether your gift is large or small. Every working laptop helps.

Tech4Kidz is a not-for-profit laptop reuse effort. We are not a registered charity and do not issue CRA tax receipts. Partners give because children need computers, and because the path from office desk to kid’s desk is clear.

Corporate laptop donations for children

What companies and searchers ask about Tech4Kidz partnerships.

Have companies donated hundreds of laptops for children in Ontario?

Yes. Hundreds of laptops have been donated through Tech4Kidz. We have had a few large corporate partners make generous donations, and many other companies of many sizes have given too. Every working laptop was placed with a child who needed one. Children are still waiting, and new partners are always welcome.

Is there a minimum number of laptops for a corporate donation?

We like to start at a donation of 20 or more laptops when possible. That helps us schedule pickup and place devices efficiently. If your lot is smaller, still email us. We will share what is possible.

Will Tech4Kidz thank our company publicly?

Yes, when you are comfortable with it. We like to post about our corporate donors on LinkedIn and Instagram so we can extend our gratitude to a greater audience. Tell us your preference when you reach out. Quiet donations are always welcome too.

Are hundreds of donated laptops enough for children who need one?

They help deeply, and the need remains. Many children still share a phone for homework. Each new company refresh that chooses reuse shortens the wait for another student.

Which agencies receive Tech4Kidz laptops?

Working laptops are placed with families through Simcoe Muskoka Children’s Aid / Family Connexions, so devices reach children who need a computer for school.

How can a company donate used laptops to Tech4Kidz?

Send a short list of what you have (count, models, city, wipe status) through our How it works form or email info@tech4kidz.ca. We confirm fit, schedule an Ontario pickup, complete a second wipe, and place working machines with kids. Please include one charger for each laptop.

What data security steps happen before laptops reach children?

We ask donor IT to wipe first when possible. Tech4Kidz then completes a second wipe through our IT partner, records the lot, and can provide a certificate. Devices are only placed after that careful step.

How long does a corporate laptop donation take?

After we receive your list, we confirm fit, schedule an Ontario pickup, complete the second wipe, and place working devices with partner agencies. We aim to have them with the kids within a week or two.
